The Venue

Underground Arts is a 650 capacity club in Philadelphia, PA that has been a staple of the local music and art community for over a decade. UA started as a vision to open the basement of the Wolf Building at 12th & and Callowhill as an inclusive space for free artistic expression of all kinds. Over its 10+ years operating out of the Spring Garden neighborhood of Philadelphia, Underground Arts has built and solidified its place as a repeat destination for some of the best local and nationally touring live music acts + artists on the rise, and a home away from home for thousands of fans.

With a state-of-the-art sound system and two rooms in the 12,000 square foot space, Underground Arts has hosted all kinds of shows within its walls – from experimental theater to fashion shows, while most notably focusing on live music. Acts such as Parliament Funkadelic, Julien Baker, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, the GZA (of the Wu-Tang Clan), Guided By Voices, Khruangbin, Car Seat Headrest, Uncle Acid, Thee Oh Sees, JoJoHiatus Kaiyote, Roky Erickson, The Hold Steady and many more have all brought Philly music fans together over the years at UA. As a home for visual artists, UA houses installations by Philly locals Nosego, Adam Crawford, and Todd Marrone, among many others.
